Jenny will share Microsoft’s overall commitment to accessibility and disability inclusion, and how this impacts our products, services, and culture.

10 – 10:50am, A Business Case for an Open Workforce with Randy Lewis

Believing that people with disabilities could do more, Randy pioneered a disability employment model in the distribution centers that resulted in ten percent of its workforce consisting of people with disabilities (1,000+ PWDs). This initiative is now being rolled out nationwide in Walgreen retail stores across America and is changing the lives of thousands. Hear directly from Randy on why and how he made this tremendous impact.

11:05 – 11:45am, Dyslexia – Slow Readers, Fast Thinkers with Drs. Sally & Bennett Shaywitz

What is dyslexia? It’s not seeing letters backwards! Dyslexia is often misunderstood because it is a paradox -- a sea of strengths in higher level reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills surrounding a circumscribed weakness in reading quickly. This session will clarify the nature of dyslexia, how to identify dyslexia, and helpful interventions and accommodations for dyslexia.
